Permeate Pump ERP-1000

Designed to operate as a non - electrical energy recovery device, the Permeate Pump uses the available energy from the brine water after the flow restrictor to essentially force product water into the storage tank. This process effectively reduces the membrane back pressure to less than 5 psi, and allows the membrane to take full advantage of the available feed pressure.

The Permeate Pump's advanced technology is capable of bringing the tank up to line pressure and shutting the system down when the tank reaches full capacity. This function results in, higher delivery pressure, more available water, superior water quality and extended filter and membrane life.

The Permeate Pump offers more opportunities to dealers and OEM's when upgrading existing R.O. systems. For instance, you can retrofit the Permeate Pump in just minutes without obsoleting expensive equipment. The pump eliminates the need for hydraulic shutoff valves, and can be used for replacing booster pumps in well water applications.

Permeate Pump Installation Instructions

    1. For membranes rated from 10 to 100 GPD.
    2. Requires No Electricity.
    3. Pump powered by energy from brinr normally lost to the drain.
    4. Improves water quality.
    5. Effective for inlet water pressure as low as 30 PSI.
    6. Fills product tank up to 5 times faster under normal use.
    7. Saves 400% of waste water vs. conventional units.
    8. Allows smaller capacity membrances.
    9. Increases membrane life.
    10. Prevents "membrane TDS creep".
    11. Allows greater product tank pressure (90% of feed pressure).
    12. Compact size.

The Permeate Pump, AQUATEC's newest breakthrought in Reverse Osmosis System Technology, will revolutionize the way today's R.O. systems areconstructed. The pump is capable of improving the recovery rate by as much as 400% under normal use, while reducing waste water by as much as 80%. The patented, non-electric Permeate Pump is a true "energy recovery" device. It is powered by the available pressure of the brine water that typically is wasted as the water flows to the drain. The Permeate Pump increases the net pressure across the R.O. membrane by isolating the membrane pressure from the pressure in the product water tank thereby reducing the permeate back pressure to less than 5 PSI. R.O. systems designers have recognized the negative effects of tank back pressure for a long time. A typical system fills the product tank to only 2/3 of line pressure (about 40 psi.) which conuteracts the line pressure "driving force" across the membrane, dramatically reducing its output in the last stages of filling the tank. The ERP-1000 Permeate Pump eliminates this huge negative. The Pump is designed for R.O. systems with air pressurized holding tank with up to 100 GPD membranes.
